Advancing Health and Well-being: A Strategic Commitment
The pursuit of Good Health and Well-being, a cornerstone of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), serves as a critical benchmark for global progress. This is reflected in Saudi Arabia's transformative health sector reforms, which are aligned with the ambitious Vision 2030 framework. The National Transformation Program is central to this effort, focusing on enhancing healthcare quality, fortifying defenses against health threats, and elevating national health standards. Within this dynamic landscape, the BMC has positioned itself as a key contributor, actively supporting these national and global objectives through a multi-faceted strategy.
Deepening its dedication in 2025, BMC has significantly amplified its commitment by expanding its community outreach, forming new strategic alliances, and launching several targeted health initiatives. This report details the activities undertaken in 2024, categorizing a wide array of health and community-focused efforts that underscore BMC's unwavering dedication to improving health standards for its students, staff, and the wider community.
A testament to its global engagement, BMC's dynamic partnerships bring together leading international organizations, scientific experts, and health leaders. These collaborations are not merely symbolic; they are prolific, having culminated in over 1,000 scientific publications co-authored with experts from 38 distinguished global institutions. Furthermore, the caliber of BMC's research was prominently validated when four of its affiliated researchers were distinguished by Stanford University among the top 2% of global scientific influencers in their respective
fields. This prestigious recognition underscores their remarkable contributions to advancing medical science and solidifies BMC's reputation as a hub for world-class research and academic excellence.
In medical education, BMC is recognized as a leading private medical college in the Kingdom, offering a broad and pioneering curriculum across nine specialized programs from its established national campuses in Jeddah, Aseer, and Dammam. These programs range from foundational disciplines like Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy to vital allied health sciences such as Nursing, Healthcare Administration, and Respiratory, Occupational, and Physical therapies. Notably, BMC pioneered the first Occupational Therapy program in the Saudi private higher education sector. This commitment to comprehensive education ensures graduates are not only competent but also stand out in the competitive medical field, as evidenced by the 428 students who graduated in 2025, representing more than 96% of the BMC's graduating cohort.
Marking a significant milestone in its expansion, BMC further demonstrated its leadership by becoming the first Saudi university to establish an overseas branch, with the BMC Dubai campus opening in 2025. This strategic international extension, building upon its strong national foundation in Jeddah, Aseer, and Dammam, is currently operational with its newly enrolled freshman cohort actively engaged in their first-year lectures. This bold move not only extends BMC's educational mission beyond national borders but also enhances its influence and contributes to the development of the regional healthcare landscape, firmly establishing its role as a growing international force in medical education and a dedicated advocate for global health and well-being.
