Education Outreach Activities Beyond Campus
BMC’s commitment to lifelong learning is perhaps most vividly demonstrated through its proactive and extensive educational outreach, delivering tailored expertise directly into local schools and community centers.
On a Programmed Basis: The college has institutionalized its outreach through formal, long-term partnerships, ensuring sustainability and depth of impact.
Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Schools: BMC has established multiple MoUs with local institutions like Sevilla School, Al-Hamraa International School, and Dar Al-Hanan. These agreements create a structured framework for ongoing activities, including:
Tailored Educational Lectures: The Pharmacy Program’s repeated initiative "What Medication Do in Our Body" at Dar Jana International School is a prime example. It provided Grade 10 students with a structured understanding of pharmacokinetics and the dangers of drug misuse.
Career Awareness and Inspiration: The "Schools Forum for Medical Specialties" in January 2025 brought hundreds of high school students to campus for a structured program including facility tours, a student panel, and sessions to "Discover Your Passion," directly guiding future career choices.
Sustained Community Service: The Nursing Department’s "Disability’s School Visit Initiative" for children with Down syndrome and its obesity prevention workshops in primary schools, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, demonstrate a programmed, sustained outreach effort focused on specific community health needs.
Ad hoc and Specialized Outreach: BMC also leverages its expertise through numerous targeted, ad-hoc interventions.
The Nazaha Club’s Drug Awareness Campaign at Al Afaq International School (April 2025) was a comprehensive, multi-booth event addressing performance-enhancing drugs, vaping, crystal meth, and prescription drug abuse, directly aligning with national health goals.
The Occupational Therapy Program organized an awareness campaign at AlYasmin Mall on “World Occupational Therapy Day” in October 2024. With over 400 visitors, the campaign was successful in engaging the public and providing valuable information and raise public awareness about the role and importance of occupational therapy. Moreover, the program conducted an outreach lecture on the "Role of Occupational Therapy with Pediatric Cases" at the Help Center and participated in the "Sawasiah" initiative with King Abdulaziz University, promoting awareness of assistive devices and universal design.
The Health Management Program’s "Peer Power: Public Health Education for All" event at Jeddah International College saw students create and deliver presentations on public health topics, engaging in knowledge-sharing with a wider academic community.
Climate Action and Respiratory Health: This event was held October 2024 to raise awareness about the effects of climate change on human respiratory health which featured interactive lung function testing stations, providing participants with practical tools to assess their own health while emphasizing the importance of climate action.
