No                            Longer                          Shy

As mentioned in Filippos's blog, we often overlook those emotions which are considered "secondary". The Shy Robot Demo illustrated in his post does bring back some moments when I catch someone staring at me but in a glimpse of a second they once again take their eyes away.

These kinds of actions we define as "shyness" which reminds me of one project carried out by Chiini, Rick, and Roos. The shy robot called Paul Jan which is based on Arduino will be backward when you try to touch it, while the front of the display will appear awkward expression.

Also, I'm interested in the second function of this robot which mentioned in Filippos's blog that it will be able to respond to a person calling its name or asking a question.

In my hypothetical work, the robot would also feel "shy" when you come close and try to ask a question, which means the screen-based eyes will escape from your eye contact at first. Besides, it'll become less and less shy when you try to touch and talk to it, just like humans in the process of communication slowly familiar with each other, will gradually open their hearts, become open to talk.
