The first mechanical work where you could feel the experience of a stressed body is Nyloid by cod.act. In this work, you see the struggle, tension and release by mechanical constraints as a result of movement.

Interface I by German artist Ralf Baecker investigates the boundaries between two interacting systems. To excite (stimulate) the system’s behaviour, each motor is fed with random impulses of different pulling strengths. In this work, motors stress a string in opposite directions and this results in non-choreographed behaviour due to the interactions of the individual elements.
