Ingredients:
For the Pork Filling:
1 lb (450g) ground pork
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
1/2 cup water chestnuts, diced
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 cup carrots, grated
Salt and pepper to taste
For Serving:
1 head of butter or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated
Fresh cilantro leaves (for garnish)
Lime wedges (for serving)
Sriracha or chili sauce (optional, for added heat)
Instructions:
Cook the Pork:
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
Add Flavorings:
Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Combine Ingredients:
Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, diced water chestnuts, chopped green onions, and grated carrots. Mix well and cook for another 3-4 minutes until everything is heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Prepare the Lettuce Wraps:
Remove the skillet from heat. Take a lettuce leaf and spoon a generous amount of the pork mixture into the center.
Garnish and Serve:
Top with fresh cilantro leaves and a squeeze of lime juice. If you like it spicy, drizzle with Sriracha or chili sauce. Roll up the lettuce around the filling and enjoy!
