Chinese Chicken Cabbage Stir-fry Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb (450 g) chicken breast, thinly sliced
4 cups green cabbage, shredded
1 cup bell peppers, sliced (any color)
1 medium onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional)
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for cooking)
Salt and pepper to taste
Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
Slice the chicken breast thinly and set aside.
Shred the cabbage, slice the bell peppers and onion, and mince the garlic and ginger.
Marinate the Chicken:
In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
Heat the Oil:
In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Cook the Chicken:
Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Stir-fry the Vegetables:
In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if necessary. Add the sliced onion, bell peppers, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
Add Cabbage and Sauces:
Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until it wilts.
Pour in the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using), and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Mix everything well.
Return the Chicken:
Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet and toss everything together for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
Serve:
Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
