Ease of Doing Business
Program Overview
The Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 institutionalizes reforms in government processes to improve the efficiency of public service delivery in the Philippines. The program aims to streamline administrative procedures, reduce processing time, and eliminate bureaucratic red tape in government offices.
The EODB Program promotes transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government transactions by requiring agencies and local government units to simplify procedures, establish clear service standards, and adopt digital systems for faster and more convenient services. Through the implementation of citizen charters, automation of frontline services, and the reduction of documentary requirements, the program ensures that businesses and citizens can access government services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Oversight and monitoring of EODB implementation are led by the Anti-Red Tape Authority, which works closely with national government agencies and local government units to ensure compliance with the law. Key reforms include the establishment of Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS), streamlined business permit processing, and the adoption of zero-contact policies to minimize opportunities for corruption.
Ultimately, the EODB Program supports economic growth by creating a business-friendly environment that encourages entrepreneurship, investment, and job creation, while ensuring that government services remain responsive, efficient, and accessible to the public.
