Anti Drug Abuse Council
The Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) strengthens the capacity of local government units to address illegal drug problems through a coordinated and community-based approach. The program promotes the establishment, functionality, and effectiveness of Local Anti-Drug Abuse Councils at the provincial, city/municipal, and barangay levels.
Through this program, local governments are encouraged to implement comprehensive anti-drug initiatives focusing on prevention, education, enforcement support, rehabilitation, and reintegration. The ADAC also serves as a platform for collaboration among government agencies, law enforcement units, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders in combating illegal drugs.
The program includes regular monitoring and evaluation of ADAC performance to ensure that local councils are actively implementing programs and strategies aligned with national policies on drug prevention and control. By strengthening local coordination and community participation, the ADAC Program contributes to building safer, drug-free, and resilient communities.
