Child Friendly Local Governance Audit
It is an assessment tool used to evaluate how child-friendly a Local Government Unit (LGU) is in terms of policies, programs, and services for children.
The audit checks whether LGUs are protecting and promoting children’s rights and welfare based on standards of the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The CFLGA looks at several areas, such as:
Survival – health, nutrition, and early childhood care
Development – education and learning opportunities
Protection – protection from abuse, exploitation, and violence
Participation – involvement of children in community activities
Governance – LGU policies, plans, and budget for children
