Coming to every single Disney owned hotel room on property is an overhaul of the ResortTV channels! There will be a total of six channels as part of the ResortTV overhaul. These channels will be:
- Resort Information on Channel 1
- Must Do Disney on Channel 2
- Disney+ on Channel 3
- ESPN+ on Channel 4
- Hulu on Channel 5
- Disney Promos on Channel 6
Resort Information will simply be information for that resort involving the operating hours of the shopping, dinning, pool, and other recreation found at the resort. Theme park hours along with times for the various park spectaculars are shown on this channel as well. Also available is a live estimate of when the next bus will arrive for pickup at the bus stop and the weekly forecast.
Disney +, ESPN+ and Hulu will all be there own channels allowing guests to either connect their accounts or use the complimentary service to watch the countless hours of content now available at their fingertips. Prior to arriving parents will be able to set age restrictions for the channels, and this can also be done at the front desk or manually with the TV remote.
Disney Promos will simply be playing a loop of various commercials for the Disney Parks along with upcoming films and TV shows.
Must Do Disney will be completely refilmed with a whole new script, but fans of the original don't have to worry as Stacey returns as host to this program. The new Disney Must Dos are:
1. Tanuki Twist at Disney's Inventus
2. The Excavator at Disney's Animal Kingdom
3. Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot
4. The Overhauled Marketplace
5. Explore the all new Pixar Place at Disney's Hollywood Studios
7. The Revamped Haunted Mansion
8. The Revamped Country Bear Jamboree
9. The Adventures of Vince Quasar at New Tomorrowland
10. Celebrate a Wish Come True Nighttime Spectacular
Much like the current iteration of Must Do Disney this list won't be the only thing featured in the program. Stacy will go around making faces with characters, making goofy remarks to various situations, and exploring the entire Walt Disney World resort with a lens on everything new for the anniversary! This new Must Do Disney goes to prove that Stacy just is immortal, and will forever live on the Disney Resort screen.
Given the resort is also turning fifty on the same day as Magic Kingdom it only made sense for Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to receive an overhaul to bring up to the times. A new porte cochere will showcase the iconic mid-20th century architecture the Polynesian is famous for. This new entry features a high-pitched, open-truss roof covered in a thatch style complement the Longhouses found throughout the resort. Along the Monorail station, bold new wooden screens will be covered with geometric patterns in bright, tropical colors that complete an exciting new composition that will greet you when you arrive.
The open and airy design of the entryway will feature dramatic lighting elements, including beautiful chandeliers inspired by glass floats, fishing nets and oversized bamboo elements. The new chandeliers will match the existing grand chandelier in the resort lobby, artfully bridging interior and exterior spaces.
Moving into the guest rooms, all rooms have been transformed with a new color palette inspired by the Pacific Ocean and its many islands, including details, patterns and textures from Moana. Upon closer inspection of the room some characters from the story are actually worked into the details in a very natural way. In the bathrooms the tiles and carved details in the room take inspiration from the sandy ocean floor. The colorful patterns found throughout the bedroom bring a whole new energy to the space, evoking undulating ocean waves and tropical flowers.
Given the resort is also turning fifty on the same day as Magic Kingdom it only made sense for Disney's Contemporary Resort to receive an overhaul to bring up to the times. Unlike Disney's Polynesian Village Resort these changes will effect the interior of the building. Much like how Moana spearheaded the changes for the Polynesian Village Resort, The Incredibles will spearhead the changes at the Contemporary Resort. The Incredibles are a perfect fit for the Contemporary Resort given the contemporary aesthetic featured in many buildings and designs from the two films which mesh perfectly with with the resort's aesthetic.
The first major change will be the overhaul of Chef Mickeys to the Supers' Kitchen. Supers' Kitchen is a character dining experience that retains the same menu from Chef Mickeys but with a new cast of characters to meet consisting of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Frozone, and Edna Mode. The next change will be the overhaul of the Fantaisa giftshop into Edna's Runway, a giftshop that specializes on apparel rather it be t-shirts, sweaters, ears, caps, sunglasses, bookbags, spirit jerseys, etc. The third and final change to the general guest offerings is the Fantasia Market becoming the Parr Pantry where guests can purchase a variety of candies, snacks, drinks, alcohol, medicine, and anything else that a guest may have needed, but forgot to pack for their trip to Walt Disney World.
The guest rooms will receive a major overhaul with the first change being in the hallways. New red and orange carpeting with a 60's mod pattern is installed throughout the guest hallways to give guests a new pop of color. The walls of the hallways have changed as well leaving behind the industrial feeling black and white color scheme, and instead leaning into a palette that involves naturally light brown wood, blacks white and grays. Periodically the walls are broken up by a 60's mod styled poster involving a character from the Incredibles enjoying the amenities at the Contemporary Resort.
The new aesthetic to be present throughout the resort
A closer look at the natural woods and poster
The rooms will be redesigned to be sleek white walls, and an accent wall made up of a red, yellow, and orange triangle pattern. Throughout the pattern Incredibles character have cleverly been worked in seamlessly for guests to find. New bedding and sheets ties into the accent wall utilizing the bold reds and oranges which the Incredibles are known for. The restrooms have been personally redesigned by Edna Mode with sleek greys, whites and natural wood like the one seen in the hallway being worked in to give off a sleek and modern restroom for guests to do their business in. Included in the bathroom redesign will be a smart mirror as the finishing the touch for the new themed rooms as a nod to the futurism that the Contemporary Resort is known for. The smart mirror will be synced to MyDisneyExprience and show off the weather forecast, park hours, and the guest's various reservations for the day.
