The Marketplace

Discover a revamped shopping and dining experience at The Marketplace.

Welcome to the reimagined Marketplace! As the only area of Disney Springs that has remained mostly the same since the Downtown Disney days it was high time to bring a change to this neglected area. The new Marketplace is greener with winding paths reminiscent of walking throughout a scenic park in a residential area. Many of the buildings in the area stay the same as they're reminiscent of a residential area, but some older buildings are reskinned to become a part of this scenic residential area.

The Marketplace's new backstory is that visitors from all over the world came to Disney Springs and fell in love with the beauty. They quickly moved into the residential area that now makes up The Marketplace. Overtime the residents turned their homes into stores, and living above their stores on the second floor. This was to capitalize on the influx of tourism that Disney Springs suddenly experienced encouraging the residents to become entrepreneurs.

Thingamabobs

"You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty" - Ariel, The Little Mermaid

The exterior for this store will be based off Danish Baroque architecture specifically inspired by a series of buildings at Nyhavn 9–15 in Copenhagen. This architectural choice is similar in style to the buildings surrounding it while different enough to give the area a pop of color. The Danish architecture also acts as an easter egg from where the name of the store came from as the author of the Little Mermaid fairytale was Danish. Hanging above the entrance to the store is a red awning with a sign that reads "Thingamabobs". The building will seem taller due to the use of forced perspective and in the windows guests will be able to notice pictures of Denmark, a bed, a desk with an opened copy of The Little Mermaid, and many more signs of life.

Thingamabobs is a store dedicated to various pieces of Disney memorabilia that fulfills specific niches for fans while providing interesting things to look at for the regular guests. Much like Ariel the store is full of a random assortment of merchandise, but unlike her there's definitely more than 20 thingamabobs! Some examples of merchandise that can be bought here is a replica of a Tron disc, a Thunder Mountain Railroad Train miniature, a miniature replica of the Shrink Ray from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and many other pieces of memorabilia that a niche Disney fan would love to have.

Aromas

Continuing the Danish architecture is Aromas. The building will be a different color, but still in a similar style. Instead of an awning a sign hangs on the side of the store depicting an old fashioned candle and the word Aromas spelled out in a smoke themed font. The smoke is actually rising from the candle! Aromas like the sign says sells candles both one and two wicks! However candles aren't the only things that create smell! Guests will also be able to find incense, fragrance plug ins, and wax for wax melts! Fragrances sold in Aromas will be iconic smells from the resort's storied history such as:

- Warm Hugs: A scent similar to what is smelled when hugging a character; fresh linen.

- Citrus Groves: Send your nose soarin' with sunny smell; citrus.

- Alexandria: Relieve the burning of Alexandria with this smoky scent; campfire.

- Water: Splash into this amazing smell that'll send your nose down a waterfall; that water smell on Splash Mountain, you try pinpointing it!

- and many many more!

Amazon 4-Star

Finishing up the block of Danish architecture is Amazon 4-Star. The exterior takes a departure from the other two residential buildings in the block and is instead the post office within the Marketplace! An Amazon Prime sponsored mailbox is outside where guests can send mail, regardless if they have Amazon Prime, to any address in the US! The sign is displayed on an awning much like the one at Thingamabobs, but now the awning is green. Amazon 4-Star is a newer concept from Amazon where shoppers enter a physical store and get to purchase a variety of best selling items on Amazon catered to the store's location, and you know the items are worth it because they all are 4-Stars or more! Guests can expect to find books, stationery, toys, candles, electronics, beauty products, etc. The main reason for bringing the Amazon 4-Star concept to Disney Springs is to create a must see store for guests that are brought in by their curiosity of what a physical Amazon star is, and the complete randomness that are the products offered. Any products bought within this store can be shipped directly to your home too so don't worry about lugging that slow cooker around World of Disney as you drink your Starbucks Vanilla Bean Frappe!

MrBeast Burger

MrBeast Burger is a ghost kitchen concept from the popular youtuber MrBeast. This franchise has quickly expanded to over 400 locations on in only six months, and these rollouts were met with immense popularity with stores having to close early due to lack of food. In another location lines for pickup were over 20 miles long, and had to be closed by the police to begin to mitigate traffic issues. MrBeast Burger will be a first for the brand as the first ever physical location of the chain with dine in available! MrBeast Burger was chosen to capitalize on the Gen Z and younger market drawing them towards The Marketplace in order to generate new foot traffic.

In addition to being the first permanent physical location for the chain it will be a unique test of technology for Disney. The entirety of the kitchen will be located on the second floor on top of stilts allowing for the ground floor to be almost entirely seating thus maximizing the space of the dining location. To order guests approach a screen to order similar to McDonalds or Panera Bread and tap to create their order. They did proceed down the line to the pickup area. The pickup area will be a series of dumbwaiters that open with a specific QR code either printed on the receipt to open the dumbwaiter allowing guests to get their food in a quick and seamless way! Kylie Cosmetics

Located adjacent to MrBeast Burger is another celebrity brand, Kylie Cosmetics. Much like MrBeast, Kylie Jenner is huge amongst the younger demographic and will her brand of cosmetics will be offered in the first ever Kylie Cosmetics store! Products from Kylie Cosmetics have been known to quickly sell out overnight online, and fans are left product less! Well now fans can rest assured for Kylie Cosmetics will carry Kylie's full Cosmetic collection including the famed Lip Kit and Brow Kit! As Kylie Jenner has been known to do she may appear from time to time for a pop up experience focusing on her newest products.

Kylie Cosmetics is another addition to the makeup store game in Disney Springs, but with the distinction of being the sole permanent retail location for the brand allowing for pent up demand to be met. Much like MrBeast Burger this new offering is sure to drive more foot traffic to the Marketplace allowing for all the stores and dinning to now get more exposure.

H & M

The final whole new store is two stories tall! The exterior of the store is reminiscent of Coastal Contemporary throughout Florida and combines the older wooden looking buildings with the newer buildings that incorporate less wood in a perfect blend combining both mediums. This store will be two stories with multiple entrances and exits. The home belonged to a former seamstress that lived at Disney Springs, and this can be told by the decorations within the store with concept drawings depicting various fashionable outfits and old style plush mannequins and stands that show off the stores clothing.

An exclusive line of 50th Anniversary clothing will be sold at this H & M location during the anniversary. H & M was chosen as the anchor for the reimagining of the Marketplace given it was ranked 5th amongst Gen Z to buy clothing, and Gen Z is quickly becoming the most important demographic for future growth of retail. By selecting H & M it is ensuring plenty of interest and foot traffic to the heart of the Marketplace reimagining which in turn will allow for the other offerings in the area to receive expanded exposure.

This location and building remain unchanged as nothing can kill Rainforest Café for it has weathered every storm known to man.

AristoCrepes

It is a sweet crepe with a banana cream filling, chunks of vanilla cake and topped with an iridescent (blue and purple) whipped cream and silver pearls

Rancheros

Housed in an Argentinian Ranch home is Rancheros, a new Argentinian Steakhouse located in The Marketplace. Sebastian Fernandez came to Disney Springs with knowledge of how to get good cuts of meat out of the cattle from years and years on his family's cattle ranch. When it came time to convert his home into his dream steakhouse he took the opportunity and ran with it. Guests are welcomed into the Fernandez household which has been converted into a restaurant, this is evident from the decorations throughout the restaurant being old photos of Fernandez's big family being rancheros in Argentina, heirlooms for Argentina, and other knick-knacks to bring guests into the Argentine themed home.

Specialties include the Chimichurri Churrasco and a sweet n spicy Mate drink made in house.

This new prime location enhances the carousel by giving it a better atmosphere, but the carousel retains much of its charm. On the illustrations of the carousel it depicts various scenes of Disney Springs from it's founding to modern day setting within the Disney Springs lore.

Earl of Sandwich

The Earl of Sandwich is a Disney Springs staple with many guests and as such remains in the Marketplace. The exterior remains unchanged as it fits the residential area theming well and has a new expanded footprint with a new seating area taking over the space of thee Spice and Tea Exchange. For fans of the Spice and Tea Exchange rest assured that spices and teas will still be sold at the Marketplace Co-Op with a small section in Disney Centerpiece being dedicated to spices and teas.

Collectable Center

In a rebranding to match what was sold in the former Disney Pin Traders, Collectable Center is the same store vending the same products consisting of collectibles such as Disney Pins, POP! Figurines and Magic Bands.

The Marketplace Train

The classic Marketplace Train remains in place with some new updates! It's backstory now ties it to the Collectable Center as the owner of that store is also known for collecting miniature trains, and has set up a train for guests to ride. Lefty's

Relocating to the former location of the Pearl Factory, Lefty's makes sure to specialize in merchandise for all left handed people. Given as the Pearl Factory was a small kiosk like Lefty's the only change will be signage.

Germanic Baroque architecture

Build-A-Bear Workshop

Replacing Once Upon a Toy is the Build-A-Bear Workshop. The exterior of the store will renovated to resemble Germanic Baroque architecture fitting in with the Marketplace's new backstory with people moving in from around the world. Windows into the store give guests a glimpse into the stuffing machines and stations allowing guests to see into the process of building a bear. Over the entrance of the store is a wooden sign held up by pulleys that displays Build-A-Bear Workshop in a fun manner alluding to the store's new backstory of being a German toymaker who relocated to Disney Springs. The interior of the store will have large blueprint drawings of various toys and teddy bears tieing into the toymaker theme.

Build-A-Bear Workshop will have special Disney plushies that can be made including a Mickey, Minnie, and Figment plushies. These characters will have special outfits as well much like other Build-A-Bears. The merchandise sold at Once Upon a Toy will be be available at the World of Disney within the Toy section.

Disney's Days of Christmas

Continuing the Germanic Baroque architecture is the relocated and expanded Disney's Days of Christmas. The exterior is decorated with pine garland, and the rooftops are miraculously covered with snow. The smell of Christmas pine is pumped outside and inside the store. The interior of the store resembles what one would think Santa's Workshop would look like with plenty of work tables holding decorations for sale, walls of ornaments, various Christmas trees on display, and even a faux fireplace with stockings decorating it. Disney's Days of Christmas replaces the now vacated Void VR Experience.

Goofy's Candy Company

Wrapping up the block of Germanic Baroque architecture is the relocated and expanded Goofy's Candy Company. The exterior has flourishes and and simplistic candies painted around the corners of the windows of the store. From one of the windows guests will be able to look into a cast member making candy apples. A wooden sign is above the entrance of the store advertising Goofy's Candy Company. Outside of the store the smell of candy apples is pumped out to entice guests to come in for a sweet treat. Within the store guests are transported into a German Candymaker Workshop with various fantastical contraptions hard at work "making" candy adding kinetic energy to the store. Many of the products from the old store can found here along with the plethora of DIY treats that Goofy's Candy Company is known for.

Tren-D

The exterior of the store has been updated, but the interior has been given a major facelift. Gone is the warehouse store design, now the store is sleek with lavender walls and a white floor that is soothing to the eye. The store specializes on selling Disney Spirit Jerseys and Loungeflies amongst other articles of tren-d clothing!
