Pixar Place

Discover a whole new land brought to you by the artists at Pixar Studios!

Maroon Studios in recent years has held a negative view with the higherups at Disney for being based on what they considered a dated IP, and for not reaching what they called peak possible profit. They then decided to shutter Maroon Studios and convert the land to Pixar Place, a land themed and celebrating all things Pixar. To save time and budget Disney decided to reuse all of the structures and attractions within the previous land and convert them all to represent the new Pixar theme. Miraculously Marvin Acme's Gag Factory was left intact as it fell outside the new land's perimeter, and because it was the façade for the former Lillian Bounds Theatre. The Gag Factory façade and Warehouse of Wonders were recategorized to exist within the same land as the Golden Mickey's Award Show Dining. Mickey Mouse and the rest of the sensational six had their meet and greets moved to a new location known as The Hall of Toons.

Former map of Maroon Studios for refence.

The Pixar Studios Sign

The first change was the demolition of the two studio signs nearest the Chinese Theater. In their place was a new sign that goes diagonally across the entrance to the land. This sign is the recreation of the Pixar Studios sign that animators drive under on their way to work on the Pixar lot. Passing under the sign guests are in the first sub area of the land, Pixar Studios. In the center of the courtyard is a giant oversized Pixar ball that guests can take photos with.

The Pixar Pals Playhouse

The Pixar Pals Playhouse replaces the Preview Theatre/The Lillian Bounds Theatre. The only change to the exterior was a reference to the name of the building, and some billboards on the playhouse's show building advertising the show inside. The exterior was kept the same as it was deemed generic enough to blend into the new area. The Pixars Pals Playhouse is putting on a performance of Soul: Feel the Music, an original new show that acts as a sequel for Soul. Guests follow Joe Gardener, now alive, as he lives out his life finally finding his purpose in life at the end of the live show. The show has a run time of 20 minutes, and contains five original songs.

The Art of Pixar

The Art of Pixar replaces the Art of Animation. The former façade was destroyed and a new one was put up recreating the look of the Steve Jobs Building at the Pixar Studios campus. Within walking guests are transported into a whole new lobby inspired by Animation Academy at Disney's California Adventure. Large screens that look like sketch paper depict scenes from every Pixar movie synced to the theme from that film. Circular benches with charger ports will be set up around the large lobby for guests to sit and watch the screens while charging up their device.

Within the building guests will be able to find the Animation Academy where guests will learn how to draw countless Pixar characters in a class led by a cast member. Making its long awaited Floridian debut is the beloved talk show, Turtle Talk with Crush located in the left part of the building. Here guests are able to meet Crush and talk to him asking the questions they have for sea turtles, and in return he asks some rather fun questions too! The final offerings within this building two meet and greet locations. One meet and greet location is called The Toy Box and allows guests to meet Woody and Buzz Lightyear in the setting of Bonnie's Room. The other meet and greet is with the star of the upcoming Disney*Pixar film Mei Lee in her red panda form from the film Turning Red.

André & Wally B's Café

André & Wally B's Cafe replaces the Ink and Paint Club. The name of the new restaurant is a reference to the first short that Pixar ever made. The exterior of the building would be altered greatly to match the architecture of Steve Jobs Building façade over at the Art of Pixar. This will include the same brick work and glass walls that is so commonly seen at stand alone Apple Store. The interior of the café stays the same just with the removal of references to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but it did retain the giant screen from the Ink & Paint Club now using it tp play Pixar shorts on loop. The menu of the café is inspired by various Pixar films including Bao buns, Miguel's Tamales, Remy's Ratatouille, Monster Yellow Snow Cones, and many more delectable eats.

The Cereal Bar presented by Kellogg's

The Cereal Bar replaces the former Terminal Bar. The exterior of The Cereal Bar was redone just like the nearby Café and Art of Pixar attraction to match the Steve Jobs building. The Cereal Bar acts as a reference to the real Pixar Studios cereal bar that is free to all workers at Pixar. Unfortunately it is not free here nor does it have as wide of range of cereals on hand. Disney has convinced Kellogg's to be a sponsor of this quirky dining location allowing Disney to serve virtually every Kellogg cereal in production, even limited edition ones! In addition to cereal The Cereal Bar will stock White, Chocolate, Almond and Oat Milk along with Vanilla and Chocolate ice cream. Guests will be able to have there cereal served three ways: in a bowl with milk, in a milkshake, or on a sundae! Throughout the Cereal Bar various canvas paintings are on displayed with Kellogg mascots having a bowl of their respective cereal with a classic Pixar character.

Character Campus

Representing the other subarea of Pixar Place is Character Campus where the various Pixar characters come together with rides, meet and greets and even streetmoshpere. In the center of Character Campus is an oversized Luxo Jr which is a functioning lamp and will come on at night. Parked on the side of The Art of Pixar's show building is the iconic Pizza Planet truck which guests can sit in to take photos. Parked on the edge of Character Campus by the Pixar Portal is Guinevere, Barley Lightfoot's van from Onward. Keep an eye out as Ian and Barley Lightfoot have been known to appear around the van, and are open to take pictures with their fans.

The Toon Town facades which played backdrop for various meet and greets have been replaced with new facades representing Monstropolis from Monsters Inc and the city of Metroville from The Incredibles interwoven together to create a new cityscape. In front of the Monstropolis facades guests will find the steps into Mike Wazowski's home which is where guests can enter to meet Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. In front of the Metroville facades guests will find the steps into the Parr household which is where guests Mr Incredible and Elastigirl.

The Toontown Tunnel into Sunset Boulevard has been turned into the Pixar Portal. As guests leave Pixar Place they walk through the tunnel as they see colorful tile mosaics slowly disperse into a regular fenestration tunnel that still exits into Sunset Boulevard.

Rust-eze Trolley

Rust-eze Trolley replaces the former Cloverleaf Trolley. The exterior of the building remains unchanged due to its generic look, but additional signage for Rust-eze brings this attraction into the world of Cars. In the queue for the trolley guests will see various decorations like oil cans tying the theme closer to Rust-eze and posters of various race cars that Rust-eze sponsors, including Lighting McQueen. The trolley will have a paint scheme of reds, yellows, and oranges tying it to the colors of the Rust-eze brand from the world of Cars. The trolley will still make its normal route through the Pixar Portal, onto Sunset Blvd, and down the street to turn towards the Chinese Theatre. From here, guests can disembark or continue to ride to the front of the park. This is the last stop before the trolley returns back to Pixar Place to pick up more artists and guests.

Monsters Inc: Mike and Sulley to the Rescue!

Monsters Inc: Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! is a retrofitting of the old Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin attraction. The exterior of the show building has been changed and it is now the Monsters Inc building from the film. This version of the Monsters Inc clone from California Adventure will have a slightly different layout due to the track from Cartoon Spin, but tell the same ride as its California Adventure counterpart. Replacing the spinning wheels for guests to control in each vehicle are new monitors that are utilized for the ride much like its California Adventure sister.

A Toy Story Adventure

Located in the former show building Mickey Mouse in We Are Rolling! is A Toy Story Adventure. The new dark ride attraction takes guests into the imagination of Bonnie and into an adventure of her creation with everybody's favorite characters. The attraction was inspired by the opening of Toy Story 3 with Andy's imagination. The show building's façade has been designed to look like Sunny Side Daycare from Toy Story 3. The show building has been completely gutted allowing for a new track and vehicles to be installed for the ride.

Queue

As guests enter the queue from the outside of Pixar Place they enter the reception area of Sunny Side Daycare. Guests will walk around the switchback style queue and will be able to to see photos of the graduating classes from the daycare, here guests will be able to see Bonnie, Sid, Molly and even a young Andy all in photo form. As guests reach the end of the room the doorway into the Butterfly Room is open. A sign above the doorway states "Playtime" letting guests that it is time to play!

Walking through the doorway guests quickly figure out that they aren't the ones playing as they are now the size of toys! Large oversized props are scattered throughout this portion of the queue making guests feel like they are the size of a toy. Large Lincoln logs, tinker toys, cards, board game pieces, and more can be seen to bring to life the area. The time in this portion of the queue quickly as guests enter Ken's Dreamhouse from Toy Story 3, brightly colored cars with the texture of plastic await for guests to board.

Ride Experience

Scene 1: Woody

Departing the safety of Ken's Dream House guests enter the sheriff's station. In one of the jail cells, represented by a screen, is Chuckles the Clown. Turning a corner and guests see Deputy Woody, an animatronic, in front of a board of wanted posters. The wanted posters show Dolly the Witch, Trixie the Traitorsaurus, One-Eyed Bart (Mr Potato Head), One-Eyed Betty (Mrs Potato Head), Evil Dr. Porkchop (Hamm).

Woody: Bless my spurs, it's the heroes! Evil Dr. Porkchop and his lackeys have captured a train of orphans! Hurry join Sherriff Jessie in saving them!

The vehicles turn and exit the sheriff's station.

Scene 2: The Train

The vehicles exit out into a desert painted vista, and parallel to the guests is a train car. In the train windows screens show that the aliens are being held captive. As the vehicle goes forward, still parallel to the train, the wheels on the train spin and the guests feel like they're going faster thanks to the use of wind effects and a screen on the wall showing the vista going by guests quickly. As guests pass the train they hear the aliens calling out to them.

Alien: Hurray!

Alien: You're

Alien: Our

All Three Aliens: Savior!

The vehicles sharply turn a corner, and guests have now boarded the back of the passenger car. As the doors flip open guests can see three rows of seats on each side of the train. On the left side are the three aliens, three figures with limited movement, and the three peas from the pod (static figures). At the end of the train car is a balcony where a screen lies. Here One-Eyed Bart and Betty stand, observant guests will notice outside the windows a screen depicts Sherriff Jessie riding on Bullseye closing in on the train.

One-Eyed Betty: HONEY! ITS THE FUZZ!

One-Eyed Bart puts on his angry eyes and gets his fists out ready to fight. One-Eyed Betty brings out a purse she stole and swings it around like a nunchuck. Jessie bursts in from the wall behind the One-Eyed couple.

Jessie: Yeehaw, in the name of the law you're under arrest!

One-Eyed Bart (using archival recordings): JESSIE!

One-Eyed Betty: You'll never make spuds outta us!

As the One-Eyed couple fight off Jessie the vehicles have continued to move through the train, now passing under the balcony where the screen was guests hear:

Jessie: Hurry on up I got them here varmints, y'all go n stop Dolly the Witch!

Scene 3: Dolly the Witch

The vehicles spin out from the train station which has posters advertising various shows such as Wheezy in Concert, Duke Caboom Stunt Spectacular, and Bo Peep's Sheep Show. The vehicles now spin into Dolly's Lair. Mr Pricklepants and his trusty steed Buttercup await guests in the foyer, they're both static figures.

Mr Pricklepants: Marvelous you're here, now onto stopping Dolly!

Turning the corner guests immediately see Dolly floating at the end of the hallway via the use of screens.

Dolly: (evil laughter) Sorry kiddos your not stopping me!

Dolly uses her evil purple magic causing the walls to light up with purple fiber optics, and the vehicles to spin into the next scene. Here vehicles travel facing a giant screen allowing guests to take in the whole scene. It starts with Dolly flying her and throwing around evil purple lighting bolts, and from the right rides in Mr Pricklepants on top of Buttercup. From the right out of the walls crashes in the One-Eyed couple in a pink convertible.

One-Eyed Betty: Hop in Dolly! We're getting out of here!

Dolly: So long suckers!

Mr. Pricklepants: After them!

The One-Eyed couple drive out of the building causing another hole in the wall.

Scene 4: The Chase

The vehicles turn into a new hallway with Dolly's Lair with multiple exits. Using a switch track similar to Toy Story Midway Mania vehicles are directed into one of three simulator rooms. As the vehicles enter the simulator rooms the walls behind guests close as the projections and screens begin to play out. Guests start out in Dolly's lair, but quickly drive through the wall and are in hot pursuit of the villainous car. Flanking either side of the guests is either Mr Pricklepants or Sherriff Jessie riding on their respective steeds. Quickly the villains are cornered in a canyon.

Jessie: We've got you now!

One-Eyed Bart (using archival recordings): You can't touch me sheriff! I've brought my attack dog with a built in force field!

From the top of the canyon slinks down Slinky Dog who forms a forcefield around the villains. Jessie gives out a mighty yodel as Rex appears from the ground.

Mr. Pricklepants: This would be what call we call our T-rex that eats force fields!

Dolly: Meh. TRIXIE GET OUT HERE!

Trixie the Traitorsaurus comes running out from the canyon walls and into Rex. From over the canyon the Evil Dr. Porkchop's spaceship appears opening a portal that lifts up the villains and the guests!

Jessie: Oh no! Don't worry Buzz will save ya!

Scene 5: Evil Dr. Porkchop's Spaceship

The vehicles exit the simulator rooms using a switch track, and travel through a hallway aboard Evil Dr. Porkchop's spaceship. At the end of the hallway is an animatronic Buzz Lightyear, reused from the shuttered ride in Tomorrowland.

Buzz Lightyear: You're in safe hands now, the Evil Dr. Porkchop will be stopped.

As the vehicles turn the corner they hear a quite iconic line from Toy Story 3 be repeated.

Scene 6: Buzz vs Mr Evil Dr Porkchop

In another scene involving a large screen that the vehicles face guests are thrown into the control center to join the fight with Buzz Lightyear. Buzz Lightyear fires off a laser beam from his arm, but bounces right off of Mr. Evil Dr. Porkchop.

Mr. Evil Dr. Porkchop: Why Buzz you should know that your lasers have no effect on porcine porcelain

Buzz Lightyear: It wasn't to hurt you, it was to distract you!

Mr. Evil Dr. Porkchop: Distract me from who?

Super Forky, this is Forky in a cape, appears.

Super Forky: Dundun, I'm Super Forky! Look what I can do!

Super Forky moves back and forth allowing his googly eyes to shake around.

Mr. Evil Dr. Porkchop: He couldn't hurt a fly!

Super Forky waddles toward Mr. Evil Dr. Porkchop, and pokes him.

Super Forky: POKE! (Forky laughs)

The poke creates a seismic shock wave sending Mr. Evil Dr. Porkchop flying out of the ship and guests spinning into the final scene.

Scene 7: Celebration

Guests reenter the sheriff's station from earlier with all of the villains now squished together in one jail cell. Like earlier the jail cell will be a screen, but Woody is an animatronic.

Woody: That's was some rootin' tootin' work rounding up all these crooks!

A few omnipresent voices are heard from above.

Daycare Worker: Bonnie it's time for snack time!

Bonnie: Snack time! Okay bye toys!

The toys seem to suddenly reset. Similar to Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway the sheriff's office turns into a series of cardboard boxes via projection revealing this was all Bonnie's imagination.

Woody: All right that some great playtime everybody!

The vehicles move to turn a corner and see a combination of screens, props and animatronics celebrating another successful playtime. All of Bonnie's toys are seen throughout the daycare interacting with each other and dancing along to a dance mix of You've Got a Friend in Me. Keep an out in the background for Spanish Buzz tangoing with Jessie. As guests are about to leave an animatronic Woody says one last remark.

Woody: You're all mighty fine toys, playtime with you all has been an honor!
