As with any anniversary, guests are expecting a new, grandiose nighttime spectacular to light up the Magic Kingdom sky every night. However, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the enduring popularity of the park's current nighttime spectacular Happily Ever After, it was decided by Walt Disney Creative Entertainment that it will not be replaced. Instead, a new anniversary-focused projection show will replace the other nighttime spectacular, Once Upon a Time.
Entitled Celebrate a Wish Come True, this new nighttime spectacular will pay tribute to 50 years of dreams and magic, two qualities that are innate to the Magic Kingdom's DNA since its opening in 1971. Using state-of-the-art projection systems, searchlights, lasers, fireworks, and some pixie dust, guests will be taken on a whirlwind journey across the six lands of the Magic Kingdom alongside their host, Mickey Mouse. From the hometown goodness of Main Street, U.S.A. to the futuristic landscapes of Tomorrowland, Celebrate a Wish Come True will surely delight audiences and tug at the heartstrings of both the young and the young-at-heart.
Like its predecessors Remember... Dreams Come True (Disneyland's 50th Anniversary) and Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland (Tokyo Disneyland's 35th Anniversary), the show will take guests on a magical journey across the six lands of the Magic Kingdom with Mickey Mouse as their guide. Narrating the show are the Global Ambassadors for Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary, Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke.
Musical elements from former Magic Kingdom nighttime spectaculars Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams and Celebrate the Magic, as well several musical cues from Remember... Dreams Come True, will be rescored and included in the show's soundtrack.
Cinderella Castle at the beginning of the show.
Visual inspirations for Tinkerbell's first appearance in the show (from Disney Dreams!).
At the top of the show, Cinderella Castle will be bathed in blue light with a circular pink focus emanating from the bottom half of th. As the lights around the Central Plaza and Main Street, U.S.A. dim, an orchestral version of the opening fanfare from Celebrate the Magic is heard. On the castle, guests will see a gold dot of light (Tinkerbell) flying around Cinderella Castle's many towers to spread some pixie dust.
As the music briefly swells, searchlights suddenly fill the nighttime skies, moving along with the music before concentrating on the highest spire of Cinderella Castle. At the same time, the clock on the central tower lights up and shows Tinkerbell's silhouette waving to the audience (similar to her first appearance in Disneyland Paris' Disney Dreams!). A large, pixie-dusted 8-point star projection likewise accompanies her first appearance.
A female soloist begins singing a rearrangement of the title song from Celebrate the Magic as used in World of Color — Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney.
Celebrate a world filled with magic
Where happiness is found around the bend
Where all your dreams and fantasies
Magic'lly will never end
As the music swells, the show's narrators, Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, open the show. Andrews and Van Dyke tells the audience about the Magic Kingdom and the magic and hopes she holds within her gates.
JULIE: Good evening, this is Julie Andrews.
DICK: And this is Dick Van Dyke.
JULIE: Once upon a time, there was a Magic Kingdom made of hopes and childhood fantasies.
DICK: A timeless place, where every land was filled with wonder.
JULIE: A place where everyone who entered its gates would be given the gift of the young at heart — the power to wish upon a star and unlock its magic.
The song is reprised, this time sung in a major key and with the backing of an adult choir. Tinkerbell, in human form this time, then emerges from the highest tower of the castle and flies above the Central Plaza. With every wave of her wand, the castle shimmers and sparkles in gold and EARidescent colors. As the final line is sung, comet fireworks, brocades, and pistils light up the night sky.
(From 0:57 to 1:24 and 1:43 to 2:20) The title song from Celebrate the Magic as heard in World of Color — Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Disney. This rearrangement will be used to open Celebrate a Wish Come True, although a female soloist, and subsequently an adult choir, will be singing the song.

Roy O. Disney's dedication speech during Walt Disney World's opening day on October 01, 1971.
As an instrumental version of "When You Wish upon a Star" plays, Andrews and Van Dyke continues their story.
DICK: 50 years ago, a Magic Kingdom was born, and in this marvelous kingdom, there lived many dreamers and magic-makers that helped made our dreams come true.
JULIE: Tonight, we will share a wonderful wish come true together, as we look back on that glorious day when the gates of the Magic Kingdom opened wide for all to enter.
The music then changes, as the castle's lights begin to sparkle as the fanfare from Wishes plays. Various colored chrysanthemums, comets, glitter, and strobe fireworks are fired off as the music swells to a climax and Roy O. Disney's original opening-day dedication speech plays.
ROY O. DISNEY: "Walt Disney World is a tribute to the philosophy and life of Walter Elias Disney … and to the talents, the dedication, and the loyalty of the entire Disney organization that made Walt Disney’s dream come true. May Walt Disney World bring joy and inspiration and new knowledge to all who come to this happy place … a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn – together."
As the speech concludes, comets are fired off from the castle itself and eventually three large chrysanthemums, forming the silhouette of Mickey Mouse, a fitting conclusion to the first act of the show.
A powerful white light beam shoots out into the audience from the castle's central balcony, while the castle itself is lit in blue. This blinks on and off as a recording of the Walter E. Disney train bell and the Walt Disney World Railroad announcement is heard overhead, thus introducing the Main Street, U.S.A. section, and also the first segment, the Old World.
The Old World segment pays homage to small-town America and a celebration of classic Americana, as represented in Main Street, U.S.A. Likewise, it also pays homage to Walt's childhood in Marceline, Missouri, and his love for America.
The circular beam of light shining down Main Street, U.S.A. turns off as the whistle and the bell of the WDWRR #1, the Walter E. Disney, as well as the train station announcement.
EDDIE SOTTO (in the style of Jack Wagner): Your attention, please. The Walt Disney World Railroad, now boarding for a scenic trip around the Magic Kingdom. Board!
As the announcement is played, the projections turn the castle into the Main Street, U.S.A. Station, complete with American flag buntings and draperies. The Walter E. Disney train, with train conductor Mickey Mouse, can also be seen traversing the track as seen through the open spaces.
MICKEY: Oh, there you are! Hello everyone! I'll be taking you on a whirlwind tour around the Magic Kingdom while I try to catch up with Minnie, wherever she is. Come along!
Mickey then blows the horn of the train as steam rises from the train stack and eventually "covers" the station platform.

Cinderella Castle as seen on Fourth of July
As the first downbeat of the Maple Leaf Rag plays, the steam lifts and reveals Cinderella Castle dressed in her Fourth of July finery: red and white light bathes the upper half of the castle, while blue bathes the lower half, with large dancing white stars projected on it. As this is happening, triple-set comets and red and blue pearls shoot out from both sides of Cinderella Castle, as well as whistle fireworks, adding to the celebratory atmosphere the Fourth of July seems to evoke every year.
As the segment ends, the castle's lights and projections dim in preparation for the second and last segment, the New World.
The New World segment celebrates the technological advancement of American society, as represented by the light bulb. The simple light, when multiplied by the thousands and choreographed by the skills of the artist, has brought joy to millions the world over.
The main focus of this segment is two staples of Walt Disney World entertainment: the Electric Water Pageant (debuted in 1971) and its successor (of sorts), the Main Street Electric Parade (debuted in 1977). As the Baroque Hoedown starts to play, the castle is then lit up in "thousands of sparkling lights" by projecting circular points of light, simulating the light bulbs used on the various classic nighttime parades of the park, from the original (1971's Electric Water Pageant) to the most recent (1991's SpectroMagic), onto the castle. The "lights", as well as the searchlights, are then synchronized to change colors depending on the movement of the music. They then begin to simulate various images from both the Electric Water Pageant and the Main Street Electric Parade "parading" across the castle, including but not limited to:
Sea Serpent (EWP)
Three Jumping Dolphins (EWP)
Neptune (EWP)
Spinning snails and mushrooms from the Alice in Wonderland section (MSEP)
Cinderella's carriage and clock tower from the Cinderella section (MSEP)
Elliot from Pete's Dragon (MSEP)
As the parade announcer says "The Magic Kingdom's Main Street Electrical Parade!" and the music swells to a triumphant orchestral climax, the circular projected lights on the castle then form the iconic drum title float.

Mickey wearing his explorer costume.
The Adventureland music loop, which will kickstart the Adventureland section.
Visual inspiration for Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room segment (from Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland and the updated Remember... Dreams Come True).
The journey around the Magic Kingdom moves clockwise according to the movement of the railroad, hence the first land guests will see in the show is Adventureland.
Mickey appears on the castle, and is now wearing an explorer costume with a pair of binoculars hanging from his neck. He oohs and aahs at the lush green jungle appearing at the lower castle walls, accentuated by the bronze lighting on its roofs and spires. As the Adventureland music loop plays, he then peeks through his binoculars and sees various scenes from the Jungle Cruise (projected on the upper half of the castle). He then reacts appropriately as the following scenes come into view:
Western lowland gorillas trashing the camp (with the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse in the background)
The African Veldt with the trapped safari group
The hippo pool
The elephant bathing pool
Mickey then hears the beginning of "The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room" from Walt's Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. The jungle parts to reveal the attraction's Polynesian pagoda facade, with some birds hanging around and having a grand ol' time.
MICKEY: Gee, I wonder what's going on in there. Let's take a look!
The Tiki Room's hosts, Jose, Michael, Fritz, and Pierre, then appear on the castle singing the attraction's title song. Accompanying them are the totem poles and its singing masks on the castle's lower towers. Mickey stays on, clearly enchanted by the singing birds, and is seen clapping along and swaying his head from side to side.
JOSE: Ole! Ole! It’s showtime!
BIRD CHORUS
In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room,
In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room…
JOSE
All the birds sing words,
MICHAEL
And the flowers croon,
BIRD CHORUS
In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room!
The tiki drummers then appear on the castle, playing along with the song.
FRITZ: Oh my goodness!
PIERRE: Mon ami!
Suddenly, thunder claps as the music takes an ominous turn. Mickey appears to be panicked by this sudden turn of events.
MICHAEL: The gods have been angered by all the celebratin’!
MICKEY: Well, that's our cue! Let's get out of here!
Thunder claps and lightning strikes again as Mickey rushes out of the Enchanted Tiki Room, gets into a boat, and rows away.
A now hatless Mickey, now drenched from the rain, is seen still rowing his boat from the previous scene. He then spots a pirate captain's hat inside the boat that he then puts on. As soon as he does, brassy strains of "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" can be heard and the Talking Skull appears on the castle.
TALKING SKULL: Avast there! It be too late to alter course, matey... and there be plundering pirates lurking in every cove, waitin' to send you to Davey Jones. Mark me words well, matey: "Dead men tell no tales!"
As the Talking Skull finishes his spiel, the boat carrying Mickey goes down a drop and we hear him scream in terror. An arrangement of "He's A Pirate" track from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl as heard in Disneyland's updated Fantasmic! kicks in, as a montage of the attraction's iconic scenes are projected onto the castle:
The Wicked Wench ship firing its cannons at the Spanish fort, with the original Pirate Captain barking orders at his crew
The pirates torturing the town's magistrate (Carlos) while his wife encourages him to be brave and "not be [a] chicken"
The new auction scene with Captain Redd and the "chase scene" with the women
The burning of the town, while drunken pirates stumble about holding their pillaged treasures/drinks
An extensive flare-heavy fireworks package is launched during this section, simulating a fiery battle on the sea and of course, the burning of the town. The segment, and the Adventureland section, ends with several cannons blasting in the audience's direction and Mickey flying off to the skies screaming.

The journey around the Magic Kingdom continues clockwise. As such, guests will now experience the American Old West in Frontierland.
Mickey then lands on the locomotive of a runaway steam train, looking very dizzy (signified by the dizzy stars flying around his head).
MICKEY: Whoah, that was too thrilling. Wait, where am I?
From a close-up of Mickey, the projection reveals the towering buttes of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The train itself is perched precariously on the top of the lift hill.
PROSPECTOR'S VOICE: Now then, hang on to them hats and glasses, 'cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!
The music from the old Frontierland section of Remember..., consisting of the main title from The Big Country and "The Ballad of Davey Crockett", begins playing as the guests see the runaway train goes down the lift hill and goes around the buttes of Big Thunder Mountain. Mickey can be seen bracing himself inside the train locomotive, before gradually relaxing and beginning to enjoying the ride's calm thrills.
Behind him in the cars are the Country Bears singing "Come Again (Come On In)" in unison with the musical track. Throughout the song, iconic images from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and tableaus of the Country Bears enjoying their day are shown on the castle.
THE COUNTRY BEARS
Come again (please return)
Come again (anytime)
We hope that you'll be comin' back again!
As the song continues, guests will see the train has entered the new final lift hill scene with the exploding mine. Mickey, seeing this, attempts to stop the train.
MICKEY: Oh no! Not again!
HENRY: So long, folks!
The scene ends with a fiery explosion.
After experiencing two scenes with explosive finales, Mickey is sure that he wants a more gentler experience. He appears to be quite shaken.
MICKEY: Laughing place, give me my laughing place!
The buzzards from Splash Mountain then appears on the castle, perched on a branch above Mickey's head.
VULTURE: So, you're looking for a laughin' place, eh?
"Ev'rybody's Got a Laughin' Place" begins to play, as the laughs of Br'er Fox, Br'er Bear, and Br'er Rabbit are heard. On the castle, guests will see Mickey riding the attraction on a log while taking in the happier sights of the attraction, a farewell of sorts before its historic transformation.
Alas, the calm doesn't last as the log Mickey is riding in begins to tip over the Briar Patch. The music also changes dramatically and ominously.
VULTURE: We'll show you a laughin' place!
The log goes down the drop, with Mickey screaming yet again, as the scene goes dark as the Frontierland section ends.

The Mark Twain Riverboat cruising along the Rivers of America during the Westernland section (from Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland). The Liberty Belle Riverboat sequence for Celebrate a Wish Come True will be visually inspired by this scene.
Mickey and Minnie kissing inside the wheelhouse of the riverboat as it goes into the sunset. (from Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland).
Exiting the Frontierland section, the action now moves into its neighbor to the east, Liberty Square.
Mickey drops in (again), but this time inside the wheelhouse of the Liberty Belle riverboat on a grand tour of the Rivers of America. A captain's cap also lands on his head.
MICKEY: Ah, finally! Calm waters ahead! Let's sail!
He then blows the riverboat's whistle. Minnie then enters and joins him inside the Liberty Belle's wheelhouse.
MINNIE: Oh there you are! I've been looking everywhere for you, Mickey!
MICKEY: Aw, shucks Min! You wouldn't believe the adventures I've had so far!
As the Liberty Belle goes around the Rivers of America, an extended instrumental arrangement of "Oh Shenandoah" plays. Scenes found along the banks of the river can be seen on the castle, portraying idyllic surroundings. As the scene ends, guests will see silhouettes of Mickey and Minnie going in for a kiss as the Liberty Belle sounds her horn and goes toward the distance. A heart made of pixie dust forms around the couple.

The heart image from the last scene takes on an ominous shade of red before disappearing. The opening theme of the Haunted Mansion begins to play, creating an eerie and foreboding atmosphere. On the castle, the mansion's facade can be seen on its upper half, while several gravestones are seen on the bottom. Mickey and Minnie can be seen walking among them before entering the mansion's front door.
The Ghost Host begins to speak.
GHOST HOST: Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host, your Ghost Host. (laughs)
The scene suddenly shifts, revealing Mickey and Minnie trapped inside the stretching room.
GHOST HOST: Is this haunted room actually stretching? (perimeter fireworks go off) Or is it your imagination? This chamber has no windows and no doors, which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! (laughs)
As an orchestral "Grim Grinning Ghosts" is played, guests will see several of the 999 Happy Haunts enjoying their best afterlives on the castle's lower walls. Some of these ghosts will be encountered by Mickey and Minnie, who flee in terror upon seeing them. Madame Leota can be seen on the upper half conducting her seance.
MADAME LEOTA: Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat, call in the spirits wherever they're at! Rap on a table, it's time to respond, let there be music from regions beyond!
A waltz version of Grim Grinning Ghosts then plays, as dancing ballroom ghosts fill the castle. Mickey and Minnie can be seen dancing in the background while trying to get to the nearest exit. They manage to get to the exit unnoticed by the ghosts and leave in a hurry, screaming in terror. Little Leota, accompanied by the Hitchhiking Ghosts, then appears and calls after them, while the sound of heartbeats accompanies her speech.
LITTLE LEOTA: Hurry back. Hurry back. Be sure to bring your death certificate! (laughs)

The journey around the Magic Kingdom continues with Mickey and Minnie managing to escape the ghoulish delights of the Haunted Mansion. The show now moves into the Fantasyland section.
The Wishes theme is played once again, as the castle is bathed in blue with sparkling gold pixie dust. As the song progresses, guests will see on the clock tower Mickey and Minnie having a relaxing time riding Prince Charming's Regal Carrousel, bordered by many popcorn lights.
CHILD CHORUS
Wishes, dream a dream.
Wishes, set them free!
Above Mickey and Minnie on the upper half of the castle, several Fantasyland friends can be seen, including:
Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and the Darling children flying above Mr. Toad driving his motorcar in the opposite direction
Winnie the Pooh being carried away by his balloon while the Hundred Acre Wood gang tries to brave a "blustery day"
Dumbo flying while the Casey Jr. Train follows, intertwining with the Great Goofini's Barnstormer
The music then picks up and changes into an instrumental medley of Disney princesses' musical themes. As Mickey and Minnie enjoy their time on the carousel, the camera then zooms in on its roof perimeter depicting several scenes from the Disney princess films:
"Someday My Prince Will Come" - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
"So This is Love" - Cinderella
"Part of Your World" - The Little Mermaid
"Beauty and the Beast" - Beauty and the Beast
"I See the Light" - Tangled
As each song is played, a montage is shown on the castle depicting various memorable scenes from each film.
From the world of fantasy, guests arrive in the world of tomorrow with its sprawling vistas, retro-futuristic architecture, and a whole lot of kinetics. This is Tomorrowland, the last land the guests will visit in the show.
A fly-by of Tomorrowland will be projected on the castle as the Sherman Brothers' tune "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" from Carousel of Progress plays in the background. Guests will see Mickey and Minnie strolling in the land and even spot various icons of Tomorrowland. From the Astro Orbiter and to the fan-favorite Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and even former attractions like the opening-day Flight to the Moon, there is no shortage of love for any iteration of Tomorrowland in the show.
The camera then pans to the focal point of Tomorrowland, Space Mountain.

(From 1:08 to 2:29) The on-ride soundtrack for Disneyland's Space Mountain, as composed by Dick Dale. This also briefly served as the exit ramp music for the Magic Kingdom's version of the ride.
As the "Third Tunnel" ambient music from Space Mountain plays, guests will see Mickey and Minnie, now wearing spacesuits, entering Starport: Seven-Five. Placed behind them are several monitors showing planetary diagrams, as well as windows looking out into space; millions of stars, as well as other space stations and astronauts doing spacewalks (as seen in the queue of Space Mountain) can be seen. The couple sees an empty rocket coming up to them and promptly boards it. Both of them looks very excited for this new adventure.
FLIGHT CONTROL: Space shuttle, this is flight control. Prepare for launch in five, four, three, two, one. We have ignition.
MICKEY: Minnie, this is so exciting. Our first space date!
MINNIE: I know! And the first of many to come!
MICKEY: Wait, what—
FLIGHT CONTROL: And lift-off!
As Dick Dale's Space Mountain soundtrack begins to play, guests will see Mickey and Minnie flying around space in their rocket. They narrowly avoid asteroids, comets, and various space junk, as well as other rockets (some of which designed to look like the other parks' Space Mountain ride vehicles) carrying other astronauts. To accompany the music and accentuate several sections of the music, the searchlights and lasers begin to do a light show as well, in addition to launching several comet and fish-type fireworks from behind and on the castle.
As the music slows to a stop and Mickey and Minnie's rocket return to Starport: Seven-Five, the camera pans out, showing the exterior of the space station as well as its starry environs.
Andrews and Van Dyke return to finish their story about the Magic Kingdom, as an instrumental version of "When You Wish upon a Star" plays in the background.
DICK: 50 years later, that Magic Kingdom has grown to become "The Most Magical Place on Earth" to millions the world over.
JULIE: A place where enchantment waits in every corner.
DICK: A place where anything is possible — where dreamers could wish upon a star and watch it come true.
The music then builds to a triumphant reprise of the Celebrate the Magic theme. On the middle clock tower of the castle, Mickey and Minnie can be seen marveling at the lands flying around their heads, spreading pixie dust everywhere in an ending montage. Each flying piece of land is then relegated to the upper and lower walls and towers of the castle, where it bursts into pixie dust that come together to form a colorful stained-glass window depicting the attractions in each land (similar to Happily Ever After's finale).
ADULT CHOIR
Celebrate a world filled with magic
Just wish upon a star that shines so bright
Enter a world of make-believe
Let your dreams come true tonight!
The last flying piece, a land containing a small replica of Cinderella Castle, circles around Mickey's head before falling into his hands. He then offers it to Minnie who accepts it.
MICKEY: So uh, Minnie, did you have fun today?
MINNIE: The bestest day ever! So, when can we do this again, Mickey?
MICKEY: Anytime you like, Min. Anytime you like.
The two characters leans in for a kiss and leaves through the castle's main portal. A stained-glass depiction of the two characters takes their place, completing the picture. The edges of the castle's stained glass windows pulse in gold and EARidescent colors as the adult choir sings to culminate the show, accompanied with a final burst of light and fireworks.
