The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Located in the Ancient Desert land of Disney's Inventus, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a relocation of the Magic Kingdom flat ride giving Inventus some much needed filler rides. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin was added onto new construction that gives guests a wondrous view of Wonders Lake and the Ancient Desert marketplace. The ride is the exact same as it was in Magic Kingdom including the same queue setup and the return of the golden water spitting camels with on positioned to spit out into the Marketplace of the Ancient Desert, and another to spit onto riders. The Magic Carpets adds kinetic energy to not only Ancient Dessert, but the Wonders Lake waterfront bringing an extra dose of magic.

Tilt-A-Whirl, the ride system in use

With The Far East in desperate need of a new ride at Inventus, this new themed Tilt-A-Whirl flat ride has arrived to add some family fun to this land while drawing influence from the Japanese mythology surrounding yokai, supernatural creatures; in this case it's the tanuki, a raccoon-like creature. Guests will find a party atmosphere set up in a forested area inspired by Japanese greenery. Japanese lanterns are strung up via strands among the trees (with the lanterns lighting up at night) over the party atmosphere, which features a limited-motion animatronic statue of a tanuki patting his belly like a drum as ride vehicles resembling leaves spin and move around him. A statue of a smiling tanuki stands next to a torii gate, marking the entrance to the queue.

Passing through the torii gate, guests enter a queue that is shaded over by large leaves. As guests walk along the queue, signs are set up in both English and Japanese that discuss the history of the tanuki, like their mischievous nature and mastery of shapeshifting. In fact, it’d be mentioned that a signature trick is using leaves as a transformation tool. Once guests reach the front of the queue and it’s their time to ride, a gate will open up as guests hear a tanuki welcoming them to the party. Guests head for their leaf-inspired ride vehicles and once they are safely inside, the ride vehicles will move along the platform path around the central tanuki. The rising and lowering path causes the ride vehicles to spin around their fixed focal point, with the weight of the riders influencing some of the centrifugal force. During all of this, a drum-led song will play as if it were the central tanuki drumming the beat by patting his belly. Eventually, the ride comes to a stop as we hear that tanuki voice thank us for joining the fan and to safely exit the magic leaves. We then exit for the exit gates, and continue on with our day.
