Dining

Dining is another topic when it comes to the sore spots of Tomorrowland. Though there are a few solid snack spots, there aren’t really any great eateries in the land, especially ones that try to take advantage of the sci-fi theming. Two examples of this are with the Tomorrowland Terrace (which is currently shilling the Columbia Harbor House’s menu) and Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café (which offers a thoroughly basic menu and light theming, most punctuated by the lone animatronic of Sonny Eclipse). Thus, the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant will get a revamp to its quick service menu along with its new name of Galactic Waypoint, while Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café is replaced by a new table service restaurant known as Haley’s Cosmic Cantina.

Haley's Cosmic Cantina

Cosmic Ray may have hit hard times, but the location of his café was a prime piece of real estate that intergalactic gourmand Haley Kommit couldn’t resist. So, Haley snatched up the property and has given it a total makeover into his tribute to alien cuisine across the galaxy. Inside, guests will find a classy atmosphere within the sleek Art Deco design of this table service restaurant. The walls are adorned intergalactic art and pictures of Haley’s travels (including one of him posing with Sonny Eclipse), while some “out of this world” theremin tunes fill the air.

As for the menu, Haley has assembled it with a variety of tastes throughout the Solar System (reasoning that Terran customers might want more nearby flavors, before venturing into deep space for bold experimental cuisine). For example, a trip to Jupiter introduced him to the Great Red Spot (a meat-loaded burger with square patties and red buns, condensed by that planet’s intense gravity), while Neptune led him to the Poseidon’s Fume (a blue-green blue raspberry drink that bubbles and smokes, thanks to a small compartment of dry ice in the bottom of the cup). Saturn even gave him two entries for his menu, with the Rings of Saturn appetizer (onion rings displayed by concentric size) and the Frozen Lightning dessert (vanilla ice cream coated in caramel syrup and filled with pop rocks, for a sensation that's as crackling as Saturn’s powerful storms).

Truly, Haley has spared no expense to make a tribute to alien cuisine that’s out of this world!

Galactic Waypoint

Though the set-up of an outdoor quick service restaurant won’t change much from its former life as the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, the menu has now undergone a shift to reflect the restaurant’s prime spot as a place to relax and recharge. Coffee and fruit juices help to give some liquid fuel for recharge, while treats like muffins make for an easy snack. Don’t forget about the Asteroid Belt, a heaping serving of popcorn chicken placed on a plate like an array of asteroids. Whether you’re starting your grand adventure or heading back to mission control, Galactic Waypoint offers a quiet spot for guests to sit back and soak in the atmosphere.
