1 Corinthians 13:8-13
Three Great Virtues
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 John 4:8
God is Love
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
St. Paul talks about the three great virtues of life and they are faith, hope, and love -he states that he has put his childhood behind him and now reasoned like a man...He had reasoned that there were these three great topics to think about as one lives his life...So as St. Paul wrote of the three great virtues of faith, hope, and love we need to reflect on why he said they are the great virtues of life and why love is the greatest....
Maybe man’s best hope for joy and happiness in his life is having something to hope for and in keeping his hope throughout his life...We need Someone to have faith in...And we need someone on earth to have faith in...And we need someone to love on this earth, and Someone to love spiritually and eternally...
And God is LOVE and He is eternal and forever...Life does end with Him...Heaven is a rebirth and new beginning...Love never fails...God offers us eternal life in heaven...
