1 John 4:8
God is Love
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
John 14:6
I AM Truth
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
1 Corinthians 13:11-13
Faith, Hope, and Love
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Hebrews 6:13-20
Hope is the Anchor for the Soul
13 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.
16 Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
Matthew 10:28
Fear the Only One Who Can Take Your Soul
28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
John 1:14
Word Becomes Flesh
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Two of our Great Saints wrote about LOVE, TRUTH, faith, and hope...St. John writes to us that God is LOVE...And he also told us that Jesus came two thousand years ago and not only taught the truth, but He stood up and said I AM TRUTH...St. Paul writes us that faith, hope and love on earth are our greatest treasures -and love is the greatest of our treasures...St. Paul reminds us that hope is the very anchor to our soul -that part of us which is eternal and most connected to our Father above...
I truly believe the words of LOVE, faith, hope, and Truth are linked and are connected forever...If there are special words, then these are special words...They are special because the words all intersect and connect...They are eternal words...They are part of the eternities that Jesus teaches us...These are words hold worldly meaning and are universally valued...If you believe that God is LOVE, and that Jesus is our eternal Truth, and that the three things on earth -that are the most treasured of things are faith, hope, and love -then you too must think they are linked...If one believes that hope is the anchor to our soul, and the only One who has the impact on our soul, and knows of your very soul is the Father -we then recognize this value of hope that St. Paul writes about...And this is why we need this hope and this anchor...We need faith, or at least I need faith because it is important to me...I need a Father in Heaven, who gives my life a purpose...I needed Him to send us a Son, and for Him to die for my sins, but also to resurrect, so that His Disciples would be completely convinced, that He was not any and average Man, but Divine...For who else could or has walked the earth forty days after being dead for three days...
These special words help me connect and reconnect to God, when doubts and troubles come...God and His Son are part of all four of these words...They are a part of my faith in life, They are an anchor of hope in my life when storms and troubles come, They are the Absolute Truth of life, and They bring LOVE to this world...
I also see faith and hope as things I need on earth, and are more tied to this world, our earthly world...And for me the words LOVE and TRUTH are Heavenly words, words that originated from above...The words of LOVE and TRUTH are eternal words...I have written this before, but when we go to Heaven and get to meet LOVE and TRUTH, it is possible we will no longer need our faith and our hopes...We are now in the very Presence of God and His Son, faith and hope may just have been released and stayed on the earth for others to have...Or maybe these special words of hope and faith will remain only in our soul, that somehow made us unique ...For once we are in the Presence of GOD and His Son we will need nothing else...
I also believe LOVE, TRUTH, hope, and faith are sacred and holy in my belief system...That is why it helps me understand, at least a little better, of the Incarnation...How something Divine can become Man, or as St. John said the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us -and He would be and is full of grace and TRUTH...
