1 John 4:8
God is LOVE
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
John 16:13
The Holy Spirit Will Guide Us to the Truth
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
Matthew 10:28
Fear the One Who Can Kill the Body and the Soul
28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
John 15:9-17
Your Joy May Now Be Complete
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
Luke 10:25-28
How to Inherit Eternal Life
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
John 17:3
Eternal Life is Knowing the One True God and His Son
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
As one reads these verses about God and love and faith and joy and the Spirit, we see that love surrounds all these things...These things are key in finding eternal life...
Love and faith, joy and the Spirit are intangible things that one cannot touch...These things are also difficult to see...So when we try to define and explain things like love and faith, it is very hard to do...And love and faith are two of the most important things in life, so one might think it would be easier to explain these things...Love and faith have this holy connection...God is LOVE, so it makes sense there is this Grand Connection with love and faith...God is eternal, and gives eternal life...And Jesus said this about how one would inherit eternal life, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”...So faith in God and finding eternal life takes the heart, the soul, your strength, and one's mind...And these things are all predicated by loving and knowing Him and His Son and loving our neighbors...
I believe that our faith is found in the soul of the body...Love is found in the heart...So maybe faith is that part of the soul that gives one that feeling of joy, Jesus speaks of here...The type of joy that makes one feel complete, while never letting go of the mind and its ability to reason...A place where Truth has been found as it has been guided by the Spirit, while never letting go of reality...Faith clings to the soul and the Truth never lets go of reason...There is this place where faith and love and reason will meet...And in that place we find Jesus' joy...And there in that place one gets that feeling of this completed joy that He speaks of...May our joy continue being fulfilled until it becomes similar to His joy...
