1 John 4:7-16
God's LOVE and Man's Love
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is LOVE and God has show His LOVE among us...He has especially shown His LOVE by sending His Son, Jesus to us, to learn more about His LOVE...When we love God and others we show that the Holy Spirit dwells in us...And these things help us explain the Trinity of God and His LOVE...God is LOVE and love comes from God...
When we try to explain the universe and its ability to sustain itself, I might say that is LOVE that makes the universe go round and sustain itself...LOVE gives meaning and purpose to life and to the world...If that is true then God has made this so...God gives us this foundation of love because He is LOVE and He LOVED us first, and has shown us how to love...Without love the world would be a sad and a terrible place to live...
LOVE helps explain the Trinity of God...God is the Father who is the Original LOVE in all the universe...Jesus is the full-self expression of His Father and of that LOVE...And the Holy Spirit is mankind's guide and aid which aids the human expression of man's love and how we view love and actually do love...Through God and Jesus the Holy Spirit helps us express our personal love and loves...Love is the most important virtue on earth...
Author and Priest Brennan Manning put it this way, “The foundation of the furious longing of God is the Father who is the originating Lover, the Son who is the full self-expression of that Love, and the Spirit who is the original and inexhaustible activity of that Love, drawing the created universe into itself.”...
