Romans 3:22-26
We Fall Short of the LORD
22 There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
1 John 1:5-10
Ask God for Forgiveness of our Sins
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
We sin again and again because we fall short of the glory of God...The believe believes that there is One Man who never has sinned and His name is Jesus...Jesus is the Perfect, Sinless Son of God...The non believer believes that Jesus can judge and forgive us of our sins because He died for our sins and that He is Perfect and Good...While the regular follower of Jesus cannot judge others because we have this plank in our eye and we still go around sinning and making these mistakes...So we are not worthy of judging others
I believe the non-believe gets this messed up in the sense that he thinks we are very similar to Jesus...We do try to be like Him, but our flesh and earthly ways make it impossible to be just like Him...If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word is not in us...So some non-believers think, I believe, that the Christian is different in the sense that since he believes in Jesus, and that being a follower makes us just like Him...But we are not just like Him...He is Sinless, Perfect and Good, while we continue to fall short of His Glory...We are flawed, however and this is a Big However, if we confess our sins to Him sincerely each time we fail Him, and keep trying to turn away from sin each and every time, then He forgives us -over and over...And this is one of the differences in the non-believer and the believer...So this difference is that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify the believer from all our unrighteousness...Yet, tomorrow, we might need to confess to Him again...
