Jesus Atones for Ours Sins
1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
St. John wrote these great words for us...And as the Living Bible tells us, My little children, I am telling you this so that you will stay away from sin...But if you sin, there is someone to plead for you before the Father... His name is Jesus Christ, the one who is all that is good and who pleases God completely...He is the One who took God’s wrath against our sins upon Himself and brought us into fellowship with God; and He is the forgiveness for our sins, and not only ours but all the world’s...
We are saved by Grace...Grace is this Great Gift from God...We have a sinful nature, so when we do sin, Jesus is there for us as an Advocate to help us with God, the Father...So Jesus is in heaven and with God and is our Mediator for us when we sin...God wants us not to sin, but we do sin...Jesus makes us right with God and it is not something that do or have done that saves us...It is what Jesus has already done on the cross and His sacrifice that saves us...Jesus alone atones for our sins...
