In addition to the Shop Orientation, you must receive Proficiency Training from Shop staff before using the table saws, as well as approval of each operation.
Table saws are most often used for making rip cuts and breaking down panels and sheet goods, but they can also cut grooves, dadoes, rabbets, miters, angles, finger joints, and much more.
Typical materials include wood, some plastics, and some foams, subject to approval of shop staff. Due to the SawStop safety system, no conductive materials may be cut on these saws, including metal, green lumber with a high moisture content, pressure treated wood, and more. See packet for full list of restrictions.
The Shop has a variety of sleds and fixtures for use on the table saws, including crosscut sleds, dado sleds, finger-joining sleds, and more.
Material must be at least 8" (20 cm) long, have a flat face, and have a straight reference edge in order to table saw safely, subject to approval of shop staff. See packet for full list of restrictions.
