The Art & Architecture Shop serves students, staff, and faculty from Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design and the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning for work on class projects and research.
It is a 6,000 square foot facility located on the first floor in the southwest wing of the Art & Architecture Building (2000 Bonisteel Blvd). A fully equipped wood shop, the Shop also offers equipment for working with plastics and sheet metal, including vacuum formers and a spray booth. Working together with class instructors, the experienced shop staff oversees and guides all work in the shop. They provide on-going individual instruction in the safe and effective use of machines and tools and provide demonstrations and tutorials for class groups.
