Who can use the panel saw? 

In addition to the Shop Orientation, you must receive Proficiency Training from Shop staff before using the panel saw, as well as approval of each operation. 

What is the panel saw used for?

The panel saw's main job is breaking down large sheet stock into smaller pieces by making vertical and horizontal cuts. The Safety Speed SR5UA can swap between a saw blade and a router, which allows it to also cut grooves and dadoes in sheet materials. 

What materials can be cut on the panel saw? 

Sheet stock like plywood, MDF, and chipboard are the most commonly cut materials. No metal may be cut on this saw. Materials subject to approval of shop staff. 

What are the size restrictions?

The panel saw can cut material up to 62" (157.5cm) wide and up to 1-3/4” (4.5cm) thick.
