The class was busy learning the classroom rules and routines. I must say they have been doing a great job with them so far!
We worked on various activities to show skills such as writing, drawing, and spatial awareness.
Students enjoyed taking Brain Breaks and dancing to some silly songs on GoNoodle. After the 10th song we do on that site our avatar grows! We know that we need to exercise our bodies and this is a fun way to do it!
Students were also introduced to Mojo. Our virtual monster friend who teaches us about some tricky topics. Last week Mojo taught us that our brain is a muscle that needs to be exercised. He also taught us that mistakes are okay...they help us know what we need to practice again. Mojo taught us about the magical powers of the word "yet"! Instead of looking at something hard and saying "I can't do that" we are going to say "I can't do that yet" We also learned about neurons in our brain!
We started our first art project last week. We learned about what an artist does and how they often think about colors when they create a new piece. We made a list of warm colors, cut colored paper into little pieces, and began gluing them on a white page to create a mosaic style art piece.
Kindergarten had their first PE class with Mrs. Hopkins and they had a blast!
