The class has a great handle on classroom rules and routines! They rarely need reminders any more! If a child does need constant reminders for a behavior, and hey it happens to all of us sometimes, their monster in ClassDojo will also get a reminder.
ELA - We are working on different lines and pencil strokes that help with our handwriting and drawing. We have practiced vertical lines, horizontal lines, curved lines, and diagonal lines, cup, hump, and zig-zag. Students have practiced going left to right, top to bottom, and curving to the left in our writing.
Students have also been working on writing on handwriting paper. This paper helps our handwriting to be more uniform. When we write our letters we talk about the types of lines needed to write each letter. For example an uppercase t is a vertical line from the top blue line to the bottom red line and a horizontal line across the top.
Math -We have begun working on creating and extending patterns. Students have done this with manipulatives at their desk, on IXL, and writing and drawing on paper.
Science- We have started talking about our 5 senses and the different body parts associated with them. We have also been learning how our 5 senses can keep us safe.
Bible Study - We learned about the very first sin in the Garden of Eden. We talked about how even though we sin God, our families, and our friends do not stop loving us. We also talked about how it is important to ask for forgiveness.
Students continued enjoying taking Brain Breaks and dancing to some silly songs on GoNoodle. After the 10th song we do on that site our avatar grows! We know that we need to exercise our bodies and this is a fun way to do it!
Students have learned some more with Mojo on ClassDojo.
