Team Meeting

Key decisions

1. Who will play the ground bass? Choose from:

A member of your group who has not yet learned to play any of the melodies

A member of your group who can play the ground bass and the chords or melodies of the canon at the same time.

Your teacher, a member of another group who you will ‘borrow’ for your performance, or the backing track.

2. Which order will players enter the canon?

(the performer(s) who can play the most melodies should enter first)

Ending My Performance

When all players have entered the canon and played the melodies they have learned you will need to bring your performance to a close.

You should conclude your piece by playing and holding chord I (D major)

The best time to do this is at the end of a repetition of the ground bass (not during it)

The root note should be held in the bass.
