Instrumental Music 1700-1820

What many people call classical music includes a variety of styles from different periods of music history, each of which has its own name.

It is important to remember that classical music is not the pop music of the past. It has always has its own separate existence. Confusingly, one of the periods of classical music is itself called Classical. The period before this is known as the 'Baroque' period.
