Penguin Playing Hockey With A Donkey

September 14, 2018

In class, Mrs. Medsker-Mehalic all gave us a piece of paper, she called it a "WhatchamaDRAW It." We had to draw what the paper had said, mine said "Draw a penguin playing hockey with a donkey." So that's what the image on the left is. To draw this, all I used was a pencil, simple and easy for sketching out lines. When I was first beginning to sketch this out, I couldn't get the right placements/shapes of the penguin or the donkey. So I used a picture of an animated penguin and donkey then added in the hockey stick and hockey goal.

Unfortunately, I didn't really use any techniques for this drawing, it was mostly just a sketch. I think both the donkey and the penguin were the only things that took me forever to complete, just because I couldn't get the right shape, or the right placement of the two. I revised them both at least three times until finally I found the right place for them both.

Well, the story is pretty simple, I chose to draw this piece instead of an alien with a bunch of arms and no legs for a reason that is kind of weird. I love penguins, and I love hockey, so I guess that interested me more? I love hockey and penguins, I guess. One thing that really, REALLY bothers me in this piece is that it looks like a six year old drew it. If I could do anything to help it, I think I would have bolded up the lines a little, and I would've added more details into the piece to make it look less "childish."
