Gelatin Prints

The setting of my project is sort of just an abstract drawing, it was originally inspired by the album cover by Journey called "Escape." It doesn't look much like it, but it was sort of inspired by it and it reminded me of it. To make this project I used markers, ink, and gelatin. Honestly, I didn't really think much about what I was drawing at the time, I just kind of started drawing and kept on going.

Like most of my projects, I always use the rule of thirds technique, I start by making a design in one square then I see what matches or what looks good and do another square similar to what I did before. When we had done the class critique Mrs. Medsker gave me a really great idea and that was to extend the design outward instead of just having a harsh line.

I technically grew up on listening to Journey, and I have always loved their music, so once I realized it had looked like the album cover, I instantly fell in love with the idea of it. This project relates to my life because I love Journey so much. I think that I honestly wouldn't change a thing with this project.. I am very happy with the result.
