Birkenstocks

The subject of my project is I took each of the straps that are on my Birk, and then I filled it in with multiple types of designs and colors. I started off with graphite, then I took a black pen and went over each graphite line. I then used colored pencils to fill in the white spaces on the paper. I decided to do my Birkenstocks for this project because honestly, I just really love Birkenstocks, I love the way they look and I feel like me drawing them was perfect for my project. I think that doing the straps for the zoom in bit was a perfect idea because I had a chance to have many spaces to fill with different things.

I used the rule of thirds technique and I used it by taking each empty white space on the paper and putting many different designs or colors based off of my thoughts and what I wanted it to end up looking like. For this project I honestly didn't change much. I drew the zoom ins then I just did whatever I was feeling for that specific outline of the zoomed in straps.

I had already drawn a pure contour drawing of my Birkenstocks so then the next step was to zoom in on a specific part of my Birks, so I just did the straps and eventually drew in certain details and that was pretty much the story. I really really like colorful and ombre things, so I tried to incorporate that in my project, even if it didn't look like I wanted it to look. I think that i should've made my colored pencil marks on the ombre part a lot stronger so it would be obvious that it was ombre. Overall, I think I could have done a lot better with this project, I don't really understand why I didn't see the potential in it that I am seeing now because I spent a lot of time on this project.
