Circles to Dark

3" x 12"

Drawing paper and a Sharpie gel pen.

For this artwork, my main idea was to make shapes that start from very light to very dark. I drew lots of circles for my shape and slowly had them get smaller.

The materials I used for this were a Sharpie gel pen, a ruler, and regular drawing paper. I used the ruler to split the piece of drawing paper into 10s then used the Sharpie gel pen to mark the lines and start making my shapes.

During the process of this drawing, at first, I wasn't too sure on what shape I should do. I thought about doing lines and ending with a cross-hatching sort of thing, but I felt like doing circles could be more fun and an interesting design. When I started at the beginning I made the circles, less like a circle and more just curved lines through the open space. Eventually, you could start to see the circles actually being there kind of like a microscope zooming out. By the end, the circles were super tightly fit together to make them appear darker which I did.
