Turtle Assemblage

Cardboard, hot glue, magazines, water & glue mixture

The main idea that guided me through this artwork was to create a 3D piece of art, in this case, I chose a sea turtle because I like to make them and I thought it would be a cool design to show with all the different details on the back and in general.

I used cardboard,  hot glue, magazines, and a water & glue mixture for this artwork. I used cardboard for the outline and the whole turtle itself because it made the piece pop out more and was easy to assemble using hot glue. For the turtle's color, I chose to use magazines and connect it to the cardboard using a water & glue mixture that made it paper mache art because I think the outcome was nice and made it look cool with all the different variations of colors.

During the process of this artwork, I looked at different ideas of how to make a cardboard animal sculpture and put pieces together to make what I created. I had to revise a few things to figure out how I wanted the turtle to be different by making the cardboard stand out more, using paper mache for color, and making the parts on the shell all individual parts for a cooler look.
