Artist Statement

I decided to draw this prompt because trees are one of the most common things I draw, especially when I am doodling. I also chose this prompt because of the princess, and the name Sadie means princess.

When I made this piece of artwork I started on a thick piece of paper, then I used a 6B graphite pencil to sketch the tree, princess, and banjo. I revised a couple times, and after the sketch looked the way I wanted it to, I used brown, black, blue, red, pink, and green paints for color.

I had to decide what color I wanted the dress to be, because I knew I did not want it to be any of the colors I had already used on the project. I revised a little on the princess, deciding how I wanted her to be sitting and the face she was making.
