Artist Statement

To create this artwork I first got a piece of clay and then made it into a slab, I then got a piece of scratchboard in the same shape and used scratchboard tools to carve my design into. I chose a rose because my middle name is rose, after that, I paint 3 layers of blue glaze over my slab and used a heat gun to let it dry. After that, I used clay carving tools to carve my rose design into my clay. then it was fired.

Some revisions I made to this was using a straight edge tool to made the edges smoother after I finished it.
