Artist Statement

The main idea guiding this artwork was a heart. I used my hand and put it in a position of half a heart.

To create this art work I started on a blank piece of 12" x 9" white paper, then I took my hand and positioned it in the position I wanted and put the rubber band on it, I then looked at my and using a 2H graphite pencil I sketched what I saw and all the little lines on my hand. after that, I used an eraser to erase all the little sketch lines and made them darker and stronger.

Some revisions I made were erasing the lines and making them less sketch-like. I also revised the knuckles a lot to get them in the right spots and the right sizes.
