Artist Statement

The main idea that guided this artwork was the positions of the hand and me and Norah's face. When I looked at my outline I saw the hand trying to grab Norah so I turned both me and Norah's faces into full bodies with details and made the hand look more menacing.

To create this artwork I started on a blank piece of paper with a fine point sharpie, I looked at my hand and away from the paper and drew what I saw, then I did the same for my face and Norah's face. After I had those outlines done, I used a pencil to make the outlines into people and then I used colored pencils to draw the hair and clothes. I then shaded with a black colored pencil and gave the hand black nails.

When I first received this paper and what we were supposed to do I tried my best to draw our faces and my hand but they ended up not being that good. I didn't know if I wanted to turn them into people and continue with the outlines or start over, but in the end I decided to keep going with what I saw, which was a scary hand trying to grab me and Norah.
