Multiple Pinch Pot Summative

The multiple pinch pot project has been the most difficult project for me so far and has created the most challenges. The biggest setback so far was having to start over after working on my original idea for a couple classes. I started doing a drum set, but a combination of it not turning out how I had hoped and frustration with the clay caused me to decide to scrap the idea and start over with a totally new idea. My next idea was a fruit bowl, with apples, oranges, and bananas. This piece is still a work in progress, as I am still in the glazing process. It has been bisque fired but once I finish glazing and the kiln is up and working again I will be able to capture it at it's finished stage.

The bowl itself is a simple pinch pot, with a raised center, to better represent and fit the figure of a fruit bowl. I used two pinch pots and put them together to creates my apples and oranges. For my apples I also added a small stem and leaves at the top. For my orange I created a dot-like texture similar to what oranges have. The bananas are solid clay and the shape was quite difficult to create at times. I ended up with 9 total pinch pots, two for each apple and orange, four of them total, and one for the bowl. I'm excited to see the result but as of right now I like how it has turned out and I think I recovered from my setback pretty well. Once my project had been fired, a final picture will be taken and I will update my site.
