This project included three different pinch pot creations. These three included a plain and beautiful pot, something random, and whatever else. I enjoyed getting to make a variety of different kinds of pinch pots and it helped me learn how to do it best and most efficiently. I got better at making pinch pots while doing this and I also like the way they turned out.
My plain pot was actually maybe the most difficult to make because it was my first one and I was trying to make it perfect. I had to try over a couple times because it didn't look right or didn't quite come out how I wanted it to, but eventually I got it to where I liked it. After bisque firing my plain pot, I glazed it with a pink glaze. But due to the kiln being broken I do not have a picture of it finished after being fired.
My second pot and also my favorite of the three is my fried egg in a pan. I created the black pan first by making a flatter pinch pot and then added on a handle as well. From there a made an egg shaped piece of clay and attached it to the pan and added the yolk in the middle of the egg as well. This pot was fairly easy and I had fun making it. The most challenging part was attaching the handle and making it small enough to look real enough in comparison to the size of the pan but still making it sturdy enough not to break. After this pot was fully finished and fired I was very happy with how it turned out.
My final pot was nothing super creative, but still interesting and fun to make. I started with just a basic pinch pot, but then went on to curl the edges of two sides in to make it a more interesting shape and a bit different from my first pot. I also added some texture to the outside of my pot by using various clay tools. Once bisque fired, I used PC-27 Tourmaline glaze, sort of a turquoise color which I really like.
