Graphite, ink, sharpie, black and white charcoal,

For these mixed media artworks. we had to use more than one material. We had access to ink, pen, and charcoal. The value strip is straightforward and didn't need creative thinking. The big drawing, however, did need lots of creative thinking. We had to use something to draw, it could be anything so I chose my dog to draw. I used ink, sharpie, graphite, and black and white charcoal to draw him. Since the paper was so big, I couldn't go into much detail because that would take an extremely long time, but I did make patterns and things to make the dog recognizable.

For materials, I used ink, sharpie, graphite, and black and white charcoal, each had an important part in creating the piece. The work was made by using blending tools, and lots of fast strokes of ink. I blended a bit with charcoal then went over it in pen to add the fur-looking texture. I used the blending tools to blend the background as well and most other parts of the dog.

The process of creating the larger drawing took many hours and lots of hard work. I started off my small sections and sketched out what I would draw. I layered it with charcoal (black and white) and used the blending tool as well. I went over it a couple of times with a pen to make the fur-looking texture, then moved on to the next part. For the background, I had to start with one light layer of black charcoal, blend it, then go over it a couple of times with white charcoal. Eventually doing this for enough time I was able to complete the art piece.
