Independent Project

I really enjoyed this project, mainly because we had the freedom to do what we wanted with it, with no real restrictions, so I could make whatever I wanted. I decided to sketch a bodybuilder that I know well, Alex Eubank. I found one of my favorite pictures of him and then decided to sketch it. The main thing I wanted to work on was the proportions of the body, so mainly the muscle, and the small details like the hair. I wanted to capture his tone, and the way he looked during the pose without drawing his face, and I think I did that spot on.

This was just a simple pencil sketch, so I only used a graphite pencil, paper, and photo reference.

It took me a while before I knew what I wanted to do for my independent project, but after some thinking, I decided I wanted to draw something with a pencil and paper because I enjoy doing that. I then settled on drawing a bodybuilder to practice proportions, and I picked one of my favorite ones, Alex Eubank. picked my favorite pose from him as well, then started to sketch him out, it was a smooth process and I got done after one class period.
