Donate Life

Continued road

Bristol paper 9" x 12" colored markers, graphite, colored pencil.

In this assignment, I had to draw a poster about organ donation when you die. The message had to promote donating your organs once you die, in a peaceful manner. I was thinking about how I would convey this message and came up with this design. I came up with the statement on the poster, then started to draw. I thought the phrase "continue the path of someone else" and then based my drawing on that phrase. I wanted to give the impression that you are continuing someone else's life by donating organs, a positive statement.

For the materials, I used bristol paper, colored markers, colored pencils, and graphite. I used bristol paper because I needed a surface that the markers would look smooth on, other papers wouldn't have the same look. I did this because colored pencils have the same thing, they only look good on bristol paper or smoother paper. aI used graphite to sketch colored pencils for the background, and markers for the path.

It didn't take me long to decide what I would use for a phrase and a drawing on the poster. I came up with this idea pretty quickly and executed it on paper quickly as well. I draw a path with two sides, one death, and one life, off of the main path. I put the phrase "continue the path of someone else" on the side to give people an understanding of what I was trying to convey with this. I drew the background, then the path, and lastly the letters, and that was that.
