All the prints

This assignment was not the best, it was hard to get the perfect print, and took a lot of tries, but it tested my patience. I decided to go for a yin yang design for my base, then add more as I go on. I wanted to capture a calming or peaceful feel for my prints, and I think I got something near that for the final product. As I went on, I added the fish would signify the yin yang, and the bubbles around them would add to the water environment. This theme is what I was trying to capture with my piece.

The printmaking project didn't require too many materials. To start off, I used graphite and sharpie to sketch on the linoleum block. Then I used the engraving tools to cut out all the space I wanted white and left it uncut where I wanted black. I would then use a surface attached to the table to spread the ink on with a roller, then I would apply it to the linoleum block and press the block face down on paper. These are the only materials I used for this project.

I decided to research what I wanted for a design and ended up with the yin yang as I said before. I then based my idea around this and decided to go with fish to represent the yin yang. Obviously, I thought that the environment should be water because they are fish, so I added some bubbles and whatnot to the design to add more to it, as well as improve the feel of the print. After it was said and done I feel like this came out well, I just would have liked to finish the project fully, but I wasn't able to get the last final prints because I missed a lot of school due to covid and couldn't get back my linoleum block to finish the prints.
