The ideas that I think are visually evident in my work are the ideas of whimsical fun. It's such a silly prompt. When I was making it I was just thinking of an altered version of The Princess and the Frog. The related with me because I remember fondly watching Disney Princess movies as a child. I loved princesses and my favorite dress that they would wear were these beautiful big dresses so that's where the style came from. The choice of color just came from my initial thought of a princess dress, pink and purple. When I was younger I had read this Princess and the Pea book and I just thought about her while I was creating this.
I made this by first getting a H pencil to sketch out what I wanted I had someone what of an idea but not an exact picture. Then I just decided to go in with watercolors, I wanted the painting to look a little messy and look almost childlike. After I perfected all of my watercolors I waited for them to dry then went in with a gel pen and outlined everything to make it look neater.
When creating this I had a rough idea in my head but honestly the only true thing I had planned out was how I wanted her dress to go from purple to a pink. When I was sketching it out I didn't know what to do because I'm not very familiar with drawing people. So I kinda wung it but once I got to the watercolor and outlining I felt more comfortable with the image I was trying to make. This project evolved from my first my first drawing that looked more like a chunky morphed monster than anything resembling a princess. But once I thought about all the princesses I've seen throughout my childhood I was able to make something that kinda looks like a princess. However, the peanuts and the from were a lot easier the frog I wanted to be cute and have a little tilted crown and the peanuts I just made a golden watercolor and made two dots then outlined then so that they'd ressemble a peanut. My next step would probably just be a second draft because I think I could've done better at making it still look childlike without it really looking like it was by a child. I also would've done it on the right type of paper and waited longer for the water colors to dry because I found myself messing up or having things bleed a lot.
