Artist Statement:

Throughout this whole unit of space. The main idea that guided my work was negative space because we focused on not using the inside spaces of objects, but instead the space that is around the objects.

For all of my artwork, I used drawing paper, but just different sizes. For my Zentangle I used a black gel pen for the coloring. For my Negative Space Hand, I used a graphite pencil. For my Negative Space Leaves, I used a graphite pencil, oil pastels, a black gel pen, and watercolor. And my Leaf Composition used leaves.

For both of my negative space drawings, I started sketching out what I wanted to do. Once I knew what I was going to do for my Negative Space Leaves, I started adding color and blending. These steps led to my finished products.
