Artist Statement:

The main idea that guided my artwork was nature because I wanted to do a landscape with all kinds of Earth and that is just what I did. I created a landscape that included water, land, trees, the sky, and mountains.

My work was made out of 10G clay, black underglaze, and clear underglaze. I didn't choose these materials, but they made the process very easy as well as that they were easy to work with.

For my artwork, I first started by rolling out my clay into the shape I wanted and making sure that it was smooth. I then started to brush on the black underglaze which was a little time-consuming because I had to wait for it to dry. During the drying process, I started to sketch out the design that I had in mind. After applying a few coats of black underglaze and it completely drying, I started to create my landscape. After this process was done I put a clear glaze over the top to make it shiny.
