Artist Statement:

The main idea that guided my work is the checklist. I wanted to make sure that I had all 84 different colors on my artwork. This guided my work because I only did the shape of a horse and then made stripes on the horse to make sure I had all 84 colors.

My work was made with acrylic paint on canvas. I think some of my shades look very similar if not the same and I think I could've done better with the separation of color and made them a little lighter by adding more of the secondary of primary color into the black as it is kind of hard to tell.

To make my artwork I first sketched out the horse and made the stripes, I then started mixing colors as well as creating tints and shades and put them in random places as I didn't really have a plan for where to put the different colors. I then decided to pick a color or two and paint the background that color so that it didn't look so plain. At the end I wanted to try and clean up the edges of my horse a little more so I went around the horse with a black paint pen to make it stand out more and to cover up some of my mistakes.
