Painting of Surrealist Collage

This is my Collage and my painting. The first step was to make the collage, I did that by going through magazines and cut out different things to put on it. I actually had wanted to put a gorilla on it and when I found was I was very excited. I had decided I wanted to do a sunset as well that way the water and sky didn't look like one big blue nothing. Then after I picked everything out I had to glue it down to the paper.

I started doing the painting by doing the water making varies shades of blue then I did the horse and gorilla. Making all the right colors for the the water the animals and sky was quite difficult at times. To get the dots on one of the sections I had to use the end of a paint brush. The hardest thing to paint was probably the deer.

I found this project very relaxing. My favorite part was the pink and yellow piece. This was my favorite because I think that it looks the most like the actual with the right textures and colors. I also really liked the gorilla because I think that the colors and texture matched there really well also.
