This is a linoleum print project. For this project I had to make a stamp with linoleum then make four different prints, a solid color print, a multicolor print, a print in a non traditional surface and a print that I extended. To start out this project I had to make gelation prints for if I wanted to use them as backgrounds. Next I had to make the stamp, to start it I had to pick out a picture then posterize it so that it was just two tones, black and white. After I had gotten the picture to look just how I needed I made it so that it would be the same size as the stamp. Then I printed the picture. Once I had the picture I colored in the black parts with a dark soft pencil then I placed the picture pencil side down on the linoleum.
After that I took a hard pencil and colored the other side in order to press the pencil on to the linoleum then I took off the paper and went over the pencil that was on the linoleum with sharpie. then I carved out the negative space. after I finished carving it was time to make the prints. I used ink and I put it on my stamp then I made a couple tester prints before making my four main ones. for the single and multicolored ones I used my gelation print for the background. To make it multicolored I put green and blue on the the palette and put then both on the roller and then put it on to the stamp. For the non traditional print I used a daisy printed wallpaper and for the extended print I did another multicolored print then filled parts of the negative space with sharpie.
I liked making the for these but I think I could have been much more creative with some of them. But I like the way that they came out and I think my favorite is either the extended or the daisy print. If I could redo this project I would definitely have picked a better and more creative picture.
