This art work is pure contour. This work was made by using different still object toys and drawing them then going over it in pen. I used water color, sharpie and fine point pen. I had to draw three different views (profile, frontal and a view of my choice) of either the same object or three different objects. The objects I chose were a bird with a back view, a hippopotamus with a profile view and the Statue of Liberty with a frontal view.
I used mostly water color for the negative space designs. For the negative spaces I used splatter painting, I took a stencil with letters and numbers and drew them with some overlapping then I filled in the background, for one of the sections I saw a shoe and drew a abstract version of it and for the last section I started off with the idea of drawing a meteor shower then I realized that want really going to work so I filled the whole thing in orange and I really didn't like that so I drew overlapping circles and filled in the spaces with red, blue, and green.
This is my favorite piece of work I have done this year I really like the hippo and all of the different patterns. I like everything about this art work other then when I did the splatter painting the paint went all over the positive space I planned on leaving white. I really like the Statue of Liberty part because it focuses on a part of the toy that does get as much attention like the face of the toy would. Over all I really like this piece.
